Thank you for being a member of my Ph.D. dissertation committee.  I want to make available to you the current draft of my dissertation, which is nearly complete.  I appreciate any comments or feedback you have about it.

I will continue to edit the draft until 3 weeks before my defense date.  At that point, the draft will become the official version that I am submitting for the defense.  There will be an opportunity to make further changes after the defense based on your feedback.

Speaking of the defense, I would like to schedule a defense date with you.   I was wondering whether you have free time slots on any date on or after December 19.  The defense will take at most 2 hours, including a 45-50 minute presentation by me.    My preference would be the earliest date possible on or after Dec. 19.
